A worker cleans up a tar-like substance that washed ashore in Manhattan Beach, California on Thursday, May 28, 2015. Popular beaches along nearly 9 miles of Los Angeles-area coastline are off-limits to surfing and swimming after tar-like substance washed ashore. The environmental scientists said it is too early to say if the material in Manhattan Beach might have a relationship with the oil spill on Refugio Beach near Santa Barbara. The short answer was possibly but unlikely. There's been no indication wildlife has been harmed. (Xinhua/Zhao Hanrong)(Photo by Ringo Chiu/PHOTOFORMULA.com)
